Alongside the creation of workspace, we have developed a whole range of economic development initiatives to support business growth. Since our formation we have assisted 800 clients in developing their business and helped create a further 1500 jobs through specific target programmes. Over the years we have levered grant aid of £2.6m on behalf of new and expanding businesses.
TradeLinks 2 is a development programme for micro-business. It is designed to help small businesses develop export capability, address the barriers to cross border trade and explore the opportunity for employment generation, new market and new product development. This bespoke programme is individually tailored to the client business' needs - the first stage of the programme maps out a range of business development opportunities and an improvement plan for the business. The second part of the programme explores those opportunities through specialist mentoring support. The programme also assists businesses in both jurisdictions form business to business linkages with the appropriate support.
Graduate Into Business, Lisburn’s Programme for Graduate Entrepreneurship, is another option for the existing business owner. This initiative offers a range of support mechanisms including specialist mentoring, market research services, incubation support, business & financial planning services and networking events. The Graduate Into Business Programme is open to graduates of all disciplines and universities with a HND or higher qualification. Graduates must live in Lisburn City Council area or run a business in the area.
The Enterprise NI Loan Fund is a loan fund available to new or existing businesses. Unsecured loans of up to £25,000 are available repayable over a period of up to 60 months at an attractive fixed interest rate.
The INI Growth Programme provides assistance to all local entrepreneurs to develop their business by giving access to seminars, one-to-one specialist mentoring, technical experts and networking opportunities designed to enhance business competitiveness. Businesses with the potential to increase production, workforce or sales that have already reached VAT turnover may qualify for more intensive support.
Investors in People (IiP) is a framework for business improvement through people. It helps organisations of every size and sector to compete and succeed through improved people performance, giving businesses that all important competitive edge. The Investors in People Group Programme will be delivered through a series of 6 group workshops and challenges participants to benchmark their current management practices and make improvements in relation to how they strategically plan, effectively manage, create the right culture, develop people and manage individual, team and company performance. Support is also provided through on-site tailored consultancy and an interactive web site containing an extensive resource library.
